Logan Roe named to All-ECHL First Team

Fort Myers native finishes 2nd in +/- category in ECHL

ESTERO, Fla. — Florida Everblades defenseman Logan Roe has been named to the All-ECHL First team, the league announced on Friday.

Roe finished second in the league with a +36 rating and was tied for third and seventh among defensemen with 12 goals and 38 points, respectively. He also earned Most Valuable Player honors at the 2020 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic after posting an event-high seven points (2g-5a).

“In the dark days of the coronavirus, it’s refreshing to talk about something positive,” said Everblades General Manager Craig Brush. “I am very pleased to see Logan receive this honor. His development as a round player is a testament to his dedication and hard work. His growth over the last five years has been remarkable.  He has combined defensive excellence with a point-a-game offensive numbers that culminated in an extended AHL call up. Congratulations to Logan.”

A native of Fort Myers, Florida, Roe has played his entire ECHL career with the Everblades and was called up to the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch for eight games during the 2019-20 season. Logan is just eight games away from 300 career ECHL contests. He is the highest-scoring defenseman in franchise history with 127 points (28g, 99a) and is fourth in team history with 292 games played. Roe has increased his point output in each successive season as a pro and is already six points ahead of his previous best, a 32-point season last year. Prior to turning pro, Roe suited up in 146 career games with Canisius College from 2011-15. He tabbed 25 career points (1g, 24a) with the Golden Griffins.

The All-ECHL First and Second Teams for 2019-20 were determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media. Those were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards. The All-ECHL First Team and All-ECHL Second Team are listed below.
