Corcoran announced as voice of 'Blades

ESTERO, Fla. — The Florida Everblades have announced the hiring of Dan Corcoran as the new “Voice of the ‘Blades.”

A native of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Corcoran joins the Everblades organization after two seasons with the Central Illinois Flying Aces of the USHL.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Dan into the Everblades family,” said Craig Brush, the President and General Manager for the organization. “He’s a talented broadcaster and will be a great asset to our organization.”

As the play-by-play voice of Everblades hockey, Corcoran will call all 72 regular season games on WJBX (101.5 FM – Bonita Springs/Naples, 104.3 FM – Fort Myers, 770 AM). The 2018-19 campaign will mark the third consecutive season WJBX has served as the official radio home of the ‘Blades. In addition to airing games locally in Southwest Florida, WJBX will also provide an online web stream for all game broadcasts on the station’s website wjbxnewstalk.com.

“I want to thank Mr. Brush and the Everblades for this exceptional opportunity to join one of the premier organizations in professional hockey,” Corcoran said. “I’m really looking forward to becoming intertwined with the community in Southwest Florida and getting to know an outstanding fan base.”

Corcoran called more than 120 games while in the USHL and joined an exclusive group of broadcasters from the league to cover the 2017 NHL Draft in Chicago and the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas. He also assisted in the USHL’s digital media coverage of the 2017 Clark Cup Final.

In addition to his broadcasting duties, Corcoran also directed the Flying Aces’ communication efforts, including overseeing all social media, media relations, public relations, and marketing. Prior to the start of the 2017-18 season, he guided the team’s strategic communications in the rebrand from the Bloomington Thunder to the Central Illinois Flying Aces.

A 2016 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Corcoran called numerous Badgers games while pursuing his bachelor’s degree, including Wisconsin men’s and women’s hockey games and the Wisconsin men’s basketball team’s run to the Final Four in 2015 for WSUM, 91.7 FM, the school’s student radio station.

In his role with the Everblades, Corcoran will also serve as the Public Relations and Community Relations Manager, helping add to the ‘Blades exposure in Southwest Florida.
