MacAulay Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades and the ECHL announced Tuesday that forward Stephen MacAulay has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for November 20-26.

MacAulay recorded five points (2g, 3a) in three games played at Norfolk last week.  The 25-year old recorded a goal and an assist in 4-3 win on Wednesday, added two assists in a 3-1 victory on Friday and added a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss on Saturday.

MacAulay has 16 points (8g, 8a) in 18 games with the Everblades this season.Last season he recorded 19 points (10g, 9a) in 23 games with Florida, while also logging six points in 30 appearances with the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL),

The 6-2, 185-pound center played three seasons at St. Mary’s University (AUS) totaling 70 points (24g, 46a) in 68 career games.

The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native had five productive seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) amassing 155 points split between the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Halifax Mooseheads from 2008-2013.  MacAulay won Memorial Cup Championships with Saint John in 2011 and a second title with Halifax in 2013.

MacAulay was originally selected by the St. Louis Blues in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

On behalf of Stephen MacAulay, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 37,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

Saturday,  December 9, vs. Jacksonville, 7:30 p.m.  The Annual IBERIABANK Teddy Bear Toss!  It is one of the biggest games of the season.  Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game to throw out onto the ice when the Everblades score their first goal.  All of the teddy bears will be rounded up and distributed to local children's charities for the holidays!
