ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Zack Kamrass for the 2017-18 season.
Kamrass, 26, returns for his second season with the Everblades after recording career highs in points (37), goals (6) and assists (31) in 58 games played with the ‘Blades last season. In addition, Kamrass logged six assists in 14 playoff appearances this past spring.
Prior to the joining the ‘Blades, the 5-11, 190-pound blueliner recorded 29 points (6g, 23a) in 68 games with the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) from 2015-2016. Kamrass also appeared in one game with the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars during the 2015-16 season.
“Bringing a player with Kamrass’ intelligence and leadership ability back to our lineup is an exciting power move for our team and organization,” said Ralph. “Zack is a complete player. He plays heavy minutes for us in all the critical situations. Beyond that, he knows how high our expectations are here and he works hard to meet them. Zack’s presence will help our group solidify quickly.”
Prior to his professional career, the Atlanta, Georgia native totaled 64 career points (13g, 51a) during his four seasons at UMASS-Lowell from 2011-2015.
