The Everblades tied the series up at three following a 6-4 victory over the Solar Bears last night at Germain Arena.
Tonight marks just the third Game 7 in the Everblades’ 19-year history, and the 40thGame 7 in ECHL history. Florida is 0-2 in their previous two Game 7 contests (Reading – 2013 & Dayton – 2007). The Solar Bears will appear in the first Game 7 in club history this evening.
The Everblades will also be looking to become the sixth team in ECHL history to win a playoff series after trailing three games to one. The last team to accomplish this feat was the Allen Americans in the 2015 Western Conference Finals against Ontario….To this point, the team that has scored first in this series has gone on to victory. The winner of tonight’s game will face the South Carolina Stingrays in the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
About the Everblades: John McCarron leads the Everblades with eight points (1g, 7a). McCarron has collected at least a point in five of the first six games of the series…Brendan O’Donnell scored his team best fifth goal of the playoffs in last night’s Game 6. O’Donnell is also ranked second in the playoffs with 33 shots.
About the Solar Bears: Denver Manderson’s two points in last night’s Game 6 gives him a share of the team lead in scoring along with Chris Crane. Both players have posted eight points in the playoffs.…Forward Joe Perry netted his first goal of the playoffs in Game 6. Perry led Orlando with an impressive 35 goals during the regular season.
