Everblades Agree to Terms with Forward Stephen MacAulay

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Stephen MacAulay for the 2016-17 season (above photo courtesy of SMU Huskies). 

MacAulay, 24, joins the Everblades after recording 34 points (13g, 21a) with St. Mary’s University (AUS) last season.  The 6-2, 185-pound center totaled 70 points (24g, 46a) during his three collegiate seasons with the Huskies from 2013-2016.

"Stephen is a big, strong versatile forward," said Ralph. "He has a team first mindset and will be an impact role player for us."

During the 2013-14 season, MacAulay logged two assists in 12 games with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), while registering a goal and an assist in eight appearances with the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL).

The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native played five productive seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) amassing 155 points split between the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Halifax Mooseheads from 2008-2013.  MacAulay won Memorial Cup Championships with Saint John in 2011 and a second title with Halifax in 2013.

MacAulay was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

----Opening Weekend is October 14 & 15  The Florida Everblades open up their 19thseason of hockey at home at Germain Arena on Friday, October 14 against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits beginning at 7:30 p.m. The two teams will meet again on Saturday, October 15 with a 7:00 p.m. start time.
