ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Thursday that the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) have assigned forward Erik Karlsson to the Everblades from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. Karlsson, 21, has recorded six points (1g, 5a) in 37 appearances with Charlotte this season. The 5-11, 170-pound winger is a fourth-round draft selection of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. The Lerum, Sweden native totaled nine points (6g, 3a) in two seasons played for Frolunda HC (SweHL) from 2013-2015.
In an additional transaction, the Everblades have placed defenseman Justin Agosta on the 21-Day Injured Reserved (IR).
Karlsson is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Everblades battle the Atlanta Gladiators in Duluth, Georgia beginning at 7:05 p.m. Fans can catch the game broadcast on 770 AM or online by CLICKING HEREUpcoming Everblades Home Games
