About Tonight’s Game: Tonight marks the the eighth game of the Wawa Sunshine Cup Series.  Florida leads the Sunshine Cup Series ten points to four.  Florida enters tonight’s game unbeaten in regulation in their last seven games (6-0-0-1) and hold a five-point lead over second place Atlanta (52 pts.) in the South Division.  The Solar Bears conclude their eight-game road slate this evening and are 7-3-0-0 in their past ten games.

Last Time Out: Kevin Lynch’s goal at 1:12 into overtime sealed a tight 2-1 victory over the Brampton Beast at Germain Arena Saturday night. Anthony Peters earned the win stopping 29 of 30 shots faced, while Brampton netmidner Jordan Ruby took the loss despite a stellar performance in goal….Orlando’s Ryan Massa stopped all 38 shots faced to lift the Solar Bears to a 2-0 road victory over the Indy Fuel on Saturday.

About the Everblades: Matt Willows leads the team offensively with 37 points, and is tops in scoring against Orlando this season with six points (2g, 4a)… Ryan Martindale enters the week after posting six-points (1g, 5a)  in three games last week against the Brampton Beast…Florida will be without defenseman Tyler Ganly who was recalled to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League on Tuesday.

About the Solar Bears:  The Solar Bears received a big boost to their lineup on Thursday when forwards Eric Faille (39 points), Jack Rodewald (22 points), and defenseman Eric Baier (22 points) all returned from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.  Faille leads Orlando in points (39) and in goals (17)…Orlando’s goaltending tandem features former Everblade Rob Madore and Ryan Massa who is 5-0-0 in the month of January with one shutout, a 1.80 goals-against-average and a .942 save percentage.

Sunday, January 24,  Everblades Charity Golf Tournament!  The Florida Everblades will host a full-team appearance golf classic at the Forest Country Club in Fort Myers this Sunday.  Proceeds support "For the Kids Foundation" and its efforts in bringing joyful elements and healing through laughter to patients at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. Everblades players and former Major League Baseball star and Champion Derek Lowe will be participating. The community can register to play in the golf classic via a donation of $150 or attend just the dinner and auction portion for $50 by calling 239-707-8738.
