Thank you to all of those who have served our country.  The Everblades (10-4-0-0, 20 pts) will be looking for their fifth consecutive victory this evening.  Florida currently holds the top spot in the South Division, as well as overall in the ECHL. Meanwhile the Steelheads (4-6-2-0, 11 pts) are looking to snap a five-game winless streak (0-3-2-0). Four of Idaho’s last five games have been decided by just one goal.Series History: Florida leads 1-0-0-0.  Tonight marks the second of five meetings between the two teams this season. Idaho leads the all-time series with a 4-3-0 record.  The two teams also faced one another in the 2004 Kelly Cup Finals, with the Steelheads winning the first of their two league championships four games to one over the Everblades.

About Last Night’s Game:  The Steelehads jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period of play. However, in the second period Matt Marquardt, Brant Harris, and Matt Willows combined to net three straight goals for the ‘Blades to take a 3-2 advantage. Idaho grabbed a tying tally from Rob Linsmayer late in the middle frame to even things up heading into the third. Both teams traded chances in the final stanza of regulation, but neither could find the back of the net, sending the game to overtime.  In the extra session, Matt Willows tipped and redirected an Ethan Werek shot into the Idaho net to seal the 4-3 overtime victory for the Everblades.

About the Everblades: Matt Marquardt leads the Everblades in scoring with 15 points and ranks second overall in the league. Mike Avianl continues to lead the ECHL with eight goals scored this season. Aviani had his three-game goal scoring steak snapped in last night’s contest…Daniel Altshuller is expected to get the start in goal tonight for Florida.  Altshuller ranks third in the ECHL with a 1.71 goals against average, while teammate Anthony Peters also boasts a 1.71 goals against average and stands fourth in the league….Newcomer Matt Corrente recorded an assist in his Everblades and ECHL debut last night…Despite a sluggish start last night, the Everblades have outscored their opponents 20-7 in the first period of games this season.

Bowling with the Blades Charity Event Takes Place This Sunday!

Sunday, November 15, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Pin Street Bowling Center located at 4140 Fowler Street in Fort Myers(Everblades players will arrive at 1:30 p.m.)

Bowling with Blades is a bowling event benefiting Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL), which is an organization offering support to veterans in Southwest Florida VA hospitals, nursing homes and clinics. BVL is a nationally recognized organization supported by the US Bowling Congress and bowlers nationwide.

Come out and support a great cause, while meeting a couple of the Everblades players, who will take part in the bowling!
