ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Gabriel Desjardins for the 2015-16 season.
Desjardins, 22, returns to the Everblades after finishing out the 2014-15 season with 17 points (8g, 9a) and 20 penalty minutes in 29 regular season games. In addition, he recorded two assists in six playoff appearances.
“Gabriel was a really strong player for our team last season,” said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. “He had to deal with injuries last season, and our goal is to keep him healthy so that he can continue to reach his potential.”
The 6-0, 212-pound left-winger logged an assist in 12 games with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL) last season.
Prior to joining the Everblades, the Montreal, Quebec native played with the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL in 2013-14, and totaled 185 points in five seasons (2008-2013) in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey league (QMJHL) with Halifax, Quebec, and Rouyn-Noranda.
Desjardins becomes the sixth player to join the Everblades for the 2015-16 season. Forwards Evan Bloodoff, Maxime St. Cyr, Jeff Jones, and Corey Cowick, as well as defenseman Mark Nemec have all agreed to terms with the team.
