ESTERO, FL -- Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Evan Bloodoff for the 2015-16 season.
Bloodoff, 24, (pronounced blue-doff), returns to the Everblades after posting 32 points (20g, 12a) in 48 games played with the team last season. In addition, Bloodoff logged three assists in nine postseason appearances this past spring.
The 5-11, 205-pound forward totaled 38 points (24g,14a) in 70 games split between the Gwinnett Gladiators (29 pts in 55 games) and the Everblades (9pts in 15 games) during the 2013-14 season. Bloodoff was initially acquired by the ‘Blades from Gwinnett on March 12, 2014.
“We are pleased to be able to bring back one of our more popular players last season,” said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. “Evan possesses high-end NHL speed. He was slowed last season by a wrist injury, but was on a torrid scoring pace just before his injury. He is a dynamic player, and also has good leadership qualities”
Bloodoff totaled eight points in 57 games with the AHL’s Portland Pirates from 2011-2013. The Nelson, British Colombia native was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
