Everblades Donate $142,325 to Local Charities in 2014-15

ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades are proud to announce that the team donated $142,325 to local charities during the 2014-15 season.

In addition, the Everblades also donated more than 300 gift packs to local charities and non-profit organizations during the season which were used for raffles and auctions to help raise additional money for charitable causes.

The Everblades in conjunction with many of their business partners donated 4,822 tickets to local charities and non-profits through the ‘Blades Backersprogram.

In December, the team once again collected more than 7,000 teddy bears in the annual IBERIABANK Teddy Bear Toss game. The teddy bears and stuffed animals were distributed to local children’s charities for the holidays.

The team once again partnered with Paragon Flight Training in Fort Myers for the Flights for Kids program in which patients from the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest of Florida receive the opportunity to take plane rides with Everblades players.

In February, the Everblades raised $15,900 during its annual Pink in the Rink promotion which gives back to local cancer charities.

Everblades players made many visits in the community which included several stops at local schools, the Golisano Children’s Hospital, the Gulf Coast Humane Society, and many more.

“Giving back to the community has always been a priority for our team, and this past season was no different,” said Everblades Vice President of Sales & Marketing Chris Palin.  “We significantly increased our cash, tickets, and gift pack donations this year.  It’s our way of giving back to the community that supports us each year.”

In May, the ECHL announced that its member teams raised a total of 5.6 million to charitable and non-profit organizations last season.
