Florida acquired high-scoring forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel from the Gwinnett Gladiators in exchange for Jeff Silengo, Jason Wilson, and financial considerations. Pierro-Zabotel is currently ranked 8th in the league with 60 points on the season. Florida added some size up front with the addition of center Ray Kaunisto who was acquired from the Evansville IceMen in exchange for future considerations. Florida’s final deal of the day had Tyson Gimblett traded to Missouri in exchange for future considerations. The transactions did not stop there, as goaltender Justin Peters was loaned to the Rochester Americans (AHL). Despite losing Peters, the ‘Blades added first team All-Atlantic Hockey selection Matt Ginn from Holy Cross College. Finally, forward Nicolas Deschamps is expected to make his Everblades debut tonight after being assigned to the team from the Syracuse Crunch (AHL).
About the Road Warriors: Forward Anthony Luciani recorded a goal in his debut with the Road Warriors Wednesday night. Luciani has totaled 59 points on the season, and is a threat to score at any time he is on the ice. Vinny Saponari is second in on the team in scoring with 58 points, and has posted six points in seven games played against the ‘Blades this season. The Road Warriors are an impressive 17-0-0-0 when leading after two periods.
