ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Gleason Fournier from the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for forward John McInnis.Fournier, 23, joins the Everblades having recorded 14 points (4g, 10a) in 26 games played with the Solar Bears this season. The 6-0, 191-pound blueliner has posted 33 points (7g, 26a) in 97 career ECHL games.
Fournier was a member of the Grand Rapids Griffins 2013 Calder Cup Championship team, and has 12 points (2g, 10a) in 68 career American Hockey League appearances.
Prior to his professional career, Fournier totaled 133 career points during his four seasons with the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Rimouski, Quebec native is a third-round draft selection of the Detroit Redwings in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
McInnis heads to Orlando having totaled 24 points in 26 games played this season with the Everblades.
The Everblades (27-7-1-3, 58 pts) will remain at home this Friday and Saturday to tangle with the Greenville Road Warriors (25-14-1-2, 53 pts). The matchup features the top two teams in the East Division going head-to-head. Friday is Paint the Ice Night(details listed below).
