ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Cameron Burt for the 2014-15 season. (Photo Credit: Al Larson).
Burt, 27,returns to Florida after posting six points (1g, 5a) in 14 games played the Everblades last spring. Burt was acquired on March 13 from the Ontario Reign where he totaled 22 points (5g, 17a) in 32 games. In addition, the 5-10, 170-pound blueliner collected six points (1g, 5a) in nine games played with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
“Cameron is a highly skilled two-way defenseman,” said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. “He brought a lot to our power play after we acquired him last Spring, and we are happy to be able to bring him back for the upcoming season.”
Burt posted a career best 38 points (2g, 36a) in 61 appearances with Ontario during the 2012-13 season.
The Detroit, Michigan native orchestrated a productive collegiate career at R.I.T. amassing 138 points (43g, 95a) in147 games played from 2008-2012, including a 47-point, 16-goal campaign in 2009-10.
Burt becomes the twelfth player to agree to terms with the Everblades for the 2014-15 season. He joins forwards Mitch Wahl, Chris Kushneriuk, Kyle Stroh, Alex Lavoie, Mike Cichy, Mike Silengo, Evan Bloodoff, and defensemen Mike Little, Jordan Henry, Tyson Gimblett and Kevin Hart.
