ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades are proud to announce that the team donated $131,833 to local charities during the 2013-14 season.
The Everblades also donated nearly 250 gift packs to local charities and non-profit organizations during the season. In addition, Everblades players, staff, team mascot Swampee, and The Everbabes promo team, volunteered nearly 200 hours in service to local schools, hospitals, and charitable events as well.
The annual IBERIABANK Teddy Bear Toss game in December collected more than 7,000 teddy bears and stuffed toys which were distributed to children’s charities across Southwest Florida.
The Everblades in conjunction with many of their business partners donated 4,264 tickets to local charities and non-profits through the ‘Blades Backers program.
The team once again partnered with Paragon Flight Training in Fort Myers for the Flights for Kids program in which patients from the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest of Florida receive the opportunity to take plane rides with Everblades players.

Earlier this month, the ECHL announced that its member teams raised a total of 3.9 million to charitable and non-profit organizations last season.
The Everblades open up the 2014-15 season on Friday, October 17 against the South Carolina Stingrays. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
