ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Tuesday that forward Geoff Walker has been assigned to the team from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
Walker, 26, joins the Everblades after registering eight points (6g, 2a) and 56 penalty minutes in 43 games played with the Crunch this season. The 6-3, 225-pound forward has posted 118 points (47g, 71g) and 382 penalty minutes in 269 career AHL games split between Manchester (2009-10), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (2010-12), Lake Erie (2012-13), and Syracuse (2013-14).
The Charlottetown, PEI native has played parts of two seasons with the Ontario Reign (ECHL) totaling 71 points (28g, 43a) in 94 games. In addition, he concluded his final two seasons with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Prince Edward Island Rocket with back-to-back 80+ point seasons from 2006-08.
Walker is expected to be available to play for Wednesday’s game against South Carolina. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena. Fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs, $2 Bud Light Drafts, and $2 Barefoot Wines all night long! Wednesday is also College Night! Ladies get in free, while guys receive a $5 ticket when they present their college I.D. to the Capital Bank Box Office.
The two teams will also meet on Saturday (April 5) at 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday (April 6) at 5:00 p.m.
