Wheeling, WV – The Florida Everblades announced Saturday that defenseman Austin Levi has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League by the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes.
In 23 games with Florida, Levi, 21, has posted four assists with a +2 rating. He is a 2010 third-round draft pick of the Hurricanes.
The rookie blueliner becomes the 11th Everblade called up to the AHL in 2013-14; in all, there have been 15 callups to AHL clubs from the Florida roster.
On the ice, the Blades are in West Virginia for a pair of games against the Atlantic Division-leading Wheeling Nailers, starting Saturday with a 7:00pm tilt at WesBanco Arena.
Saturday’s interdivision dustup will be broadcast live online at FloridaEverblades.com and on the Everblades’ app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, with a video webcast available through America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 6:50pm.
