Wheeling, WV – The Florida Everblades’ trip through the Atlantic Division reaches its final destination Saturday at 7:00pm as the Blades open a two-game series against the Atlantic-leading Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena.
Florida comes into Saturday having won its first two contests of the road trip: edging the Elmira Jackals 2-1 on Wednesday before pulling away from the Reading Royals for a 4-1 victory Friday. Mathieu Roy and Matthew Pistilli have both registered a point in each of the first two games of the trip.
Earlier on Saturday the Blades announced that defenseman Austin Levi had been called up to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.
Despite dropping their last contest to Elmira by a 5-2 score, Wheeling is one of the hottest teams in the ECHL, posting a 10-1-0-2 record in their last 13 contests. Zack Torquato has led the charge for the Nailers, averaging better than a point per game with 25 points (8g, 17a) in 22 appearances.
Saturday’s interdivision matchup will be broadcast live online at FloridaEverblades.com and on the Everblades’ app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, with a video webcast available through America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com.
