Estero, FL – Florida Everblades president Craig Brush, along with head coach Greg Poss, announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Joe Caveney.
Caveney, 25, previously led the SPHL in scoring with the Pensacola Ice Flyers with 27 points (12g, 15a). He had spent training camp in Estero with the Blades.
“Joe is a player we had in training camp and we liked him then, but due to the numbers crunch on our roster, he went to Pensacola,” illustrated Poss. “With the year he’s been having in the SPHL, we are looking forward to him adding some offensive punch to our team.”
Hailing from Fitchburg, Mass., Caveney is a graduate of Fitchburg State College, where he racked up 26 goals and 42 assists in 42 appearances with the Falcons at the NCAA Division III level.
The Everblades return home Friday to open a two-game set with the Colorado Eagles at Germain Arena with a 7:30pm interconference dustup.
Friday’s contest will be broadcast live online at FloridaEverblades.com and on the Everblades’ app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, with a video webcast available through America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com.
