Princeton, NJ – The Florida Everblades announced Monday that forward Matthew Pistilli is the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for October.Pistilli scored seven goals and added four assists for 11 points in October as the Everblades posted a 6-0-0 record in the opening month of the ECHL season.The 25-year-old had at least two points in five of his six games during the month, and had a three-point game (1g-2a) in a 6-2 win at Bakersfield on Oct. 26. He had two goals in a game three times in October - Oct. 19 at Orlando, Oct. 27 at Ontario and Oct. 29 at Las Vegas.A native of Montreal, Quebec, Pistilli is tied for the ECHL lead with seven goals and is tied for second with 12 points. His three power-play goals are also tied for the league lead while his five power-play points are second.It is the first time Pistilli has taken down the league’s monthly hardware, but it is the third consecutive month an Everblades player has received the honor as Mathieu Roy was named Player of the Month in both February and March of the 2012-13 campaign.Pistilli has 121 points (49g-72a) in 120 career ECHL games with Florida and South Carolina and he has added 19 points (7g-7a) in 21 career games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. He has also seen action in 167 career American Hockey League games with Albany and Charlotte, recording 52 points (25g-27a).The Blades return to Germain Arena to open up a three-game homestand, starting with a 7:30pm Wednesday contest against the Atlantic Division’s Elmira Jackals.It will be the start of the Blades’ “Two Dollar Wednesdays,” with $2.00 hot dogs, Bud drafts and Barefoot Wines throughout the game.Tickets are now on sale at the Capital Bank Box Office at Germain Arena, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.Wednesday’s interdivision tilt will be broadcast locally on FOX Sports Radio 1350 AM and worldwide online on America ONE, the official internet television provider for the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com.
