North Charleston, SC – The Florida Everblades announced Saturday that forward Carl Nielsen has been recalled to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
Nielsen, 25, has four points (1g, 3a) in 10 appearances this season with the Everblades.
The Lorain, Ohio, made his pro debut in March of 2013 with the Crunch after wrapping up a four-year NCAA career at Michigan Tech University in the WCHA.
He becomes the eighth Everblades player called up to the AHL in the first five weeks of the 2013-14 season and the fifth called up to Syracuse, a Blades affiliate.
On the ice, Florida will wrap up a three-game South Division road swing with a showdown for first place against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05pm at North Charleston Coliseum.
Saturday’s matchup of the top teams in the South Division will be broadcast locally on 98.1 FM The Island and worldwide online on America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 6:50pm.
