Kalamazoo, MI – The Florida Everblades kick off a three-game, four-night Thanksgiving week roadtrip Wednesday at Wings Stadium with a 7:05pm tilt with the Kalamazoo Wings, their only meeting of the season with the Wings.
Florida enters Wednesday’s contest amid a dogfight in the South Division standings: trailing first-place South Carolina by one point and leading third-place Orlando by just one point.
Everblades captain Mathieu Roy has carried the torch for the Florida offense of late, piling up four goals—three on the power play—in the last three games while Kristers Gudlevskis has allowed just four scores in his last three appearances.
Kalamazoo comes into the game as one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference, winners of four of their last five, including a 5-2 home win over the North-leading Cincinnati Cyclones and a 2-1 victory over the defending Kelly Cup champion Reading Royals.
Up front, both Yanni Gourde (6g, 11a) and Eric Kattelus (7g, 7a) are averaging better than a point per game for the Wings, who have played fewer games than any team in the ECHL (12).
