Estero, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Saturday that defenseman Mike Little has been assigned to the team by the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Little, 25, was originally acquired by the Blades in an early September trade with the Stockton Thunder. During the 2012-13 campaign, Little racked up 34 points (8g, 26a) for the Thunder plus seven playoff assists as Stockton reached the Kelly Cup Finals.
“Mike was a top defenseman for the last two seasons with Stockton and made it all the way to the finals last year,” noted Everblades head coach Greg Poss. “He’s definitely a really good player for us to get.”
A native of Enfield, Conn., Little was named “Thunder Defenseman of the Year” in 2012-13. Prior to going pro near the end of the 2010-11 season, Little played four years of collegiate hockey with American International College, registering five goals and 27 assists in 133 Division I games.
