Estero, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Wednesday that goaltender Jesse Deckert has been called up to the American Hockey League by the Charlotte Checkers.
Deckert, 27, joined the Blades last season after a four-year career with the University of Manitoba, posting an impressive 9-1-1 record to go with a 2.40 GAA and .916 SV%.
Charlotte made the call-up of the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native after the Checkers’ starting goalie, Justin Peters, was brought up to the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes due to an injury to former Everblade Anton Khudobin.
The Everblades open the 2013-14 campaign at Germain Arena on Friday, October 18, with Black Out Night against the Orlando Solar Bears. Individual game tickets are now on sale at the Capital Bank Box Office at Germain Arena, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
