Everblades Name Tad O'Had Assistant Coach

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Wednesday that Tad O’Had has been named the team’s assistant coach.

O’Had joins the Everblades after spending the past three seasons as the Head Coach and General Manager for the Florida Jr. Blades (“A” Tier III).  O’Had coached the Jr. Blades to a 119-19-5 record, while achieving back-to-back National Championship appearances, two Southeast Championships, and two regular season championships.

O’Had has also spent the past five years as Vice President of Hockey for Athletic Republic HQ, which is a global franchise that offers performance sports training for hockey players, including the Florida Everblades.

“Tad has worked with our players the past couple of years in areas such as off-ice training and conditioning,” said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss.  “His experience and success as a coach with the Jr. Blades makes him a great addition to our team, and we are happy to have him on board.”

While with the Jr. Blades, the Yakima, Washington native has been selected as the South All-Star coach the past two seasons.  O’Had has watched 17 of his players and students drafted by National Hockey League teams during the past six years.  He has also worked with numerous players from the U.S.Women’s Olympic Team and the U.S. National Team Development Program.

O’Had played collegiately at ConnecticutCollege (2001-04) where he served as team captain for two seasons.  He will continue to serve as the Hockey Director of the Florida Junior Everblades, as well as act as the GM/Associate Coach of the Florida Jr. Blades.

O’Had takes over for former Everblades assistant coach Brad Tapper, who accepted a similar position with the Orlando Solar Bears last week.
