'Blades Agree to Terms with Little; MacLean Returns

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Tuesday that the team has agreed to terms with forwards Brandon MacLean and Ryan Little for the 2013-14 season.

MacLean, 25, returns to the ‘Blades after posting 29 points (10g,19a) in 43 games played last season.  The 5-11, 180-pound forward joined the Everblades in the spring of 2012 registering seven points (3g, 4a) in 13 regular season games.  In addition, MacLean added 13 points (4g, 9a) in 18 playoff games for the ‘Blades, while scoring the game winning overtime goal in Game Five of the 2012 Kelly Cup Finals to lift Florida to its first ECHL championship

“After suffering a broken ankle last year, Brandon came back strong during the playoffs,” said 'Blades Head Coach Greg Poss.  “We expect him to continue his strong play and leadership this season.”

Prior to the joining Florida, MacLean accumulated 143 points (47g, 96a) in 108 games played during his four-year collegiate career at Carleton University. The Burlington, Ontario native played four seasons for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (2004-2008), totaling 111 points (47g, 64a).

Little, 24, joins the Everblades after totaling a career best 11 points (5g, 6a) in 40 appearances this past season with the University of Wisconsin.  The 5-11, 185-pound forward concluded his five-year collegiate career as a defenseman for the Badgers collecting 34 points (14g, 20a).

“Ryan is a gritty two-way forward, who can also play defense,” said Poss.  “He is a real character player, and we are excited to have him on board.”

While at Wisconsin, Little received the program’s Fenton Kelsey Jr., Most Competitive Player Award following his junior and senior seasons, and was a four-time WCHA All American Team recipient.

The Fond du Lac, Wisconsin native logged 30 points (7g, 23a) in three seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) from 2005-2008.
