The Florida Everblades are pleased to announce that that WRXK (K-Rock, 96.1 FM) will be the exclusive radio home for Florida Everblades Hockey. 96 K-Rock will broadcast 69 of the 72 Everblades regular season games during the 2012-13 season.
“We are thrilled to finally be on the FM dial, especially with Beasley Broadcasting and the 100,000 watt 96 K-Rock station,” said Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush. “This will give our fans the opportunity to listen to Everblades games throughout our whole market place”
96 K-Rock is owned and operated by the Beasley Broadcasting Group Inc. of Southwest Florida. The 100,000 watt station is based in Estero, Florida and serves the Fort Myers, Naples, and Marco Island area.
“The Beasley Broadcast Group has been a fervent supporter of the Florida Everblades since its inaugural year in Southwest Florida,” said Beasley Broadcasting Group Vice President Brad Beasley. “We are happy to be broadcasting the 2012/13 season on our 100,000 watt FM signal, WRXK-FM, 96Krock, Talk that Rocks!”
Last season Everblades games were broadcast on ESPN 770 AM, which is also owned and operated by Beasley Broadcasting
Alex Reed will return for his second season as the Everblades play-by-play announcer. In addition to tuning in to K-Rock 96.1, fans can also listen to the games online by accessing the proper links provided on the 96 K-Rock Website and at www.floridaeverblades.com.
The Everblades open up their 15th anniversary season at home on Friday, October 12 against the Orlando Solar Bears. The two teams will also meet the week prior, for a pair of preseason exhibition games played at Germain Arena on October 5 and October 6. Individual game tickets are currently on sale and available at the Capital bank Box Office located at Germain Arena.
