ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced today that the team has acquired the rights to forward Corey Trivino from the Stockton Thunder. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Trivino, 24, returns to the Everblades after totaling 43 points (11g, 32a) in 46 games played with the Stockton Thunder last season. In addition, the 6-1, 193-pound center logged four assists in 11 appearances with the American Hockey League’s Portland Pirates.Trivino began his professional career with the Everblades during the 2012-13 season registering 51 points (18g, 33a) in 63 games. He also tallied 11 points (3g, 8a) in 13 playoff appearances in the spring of 2013. In addition, Trivino was the recipient of the Everblades’ Brandon Coalter Unsung Hero Award.The Toronto, Ontario native registered 73 points (31g, 42a) during his four-year career at Boston University. Trivino was selected by New York Islanders in the second round (#36 overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The Everblades will hit the road this weekend to face the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday November 7, at 7:30 p.m.
