Tim White

Tim White becomes just the second athletic trainer in the 13-year history of the Everblades and comes to the team after spending the past two years on the training staff at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. While with the Bobcats, the St. Paul, Minnesota native served as the athletic trainer for the men’s soccer, lacrosse and hockey teams. In January of 2010, White also worked with U.S. Women’s hockey team prior to Olympics. Before joining the staff at Quinnipiac University he spent two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Utah, where he worked with the volleyball, baseball, softball and football teams. He also served as youth athletic camps coordinator in Summer 2007 and summer conditioning assistant in 2006 and 2007. White earned his master’s in exercise and sport science with an emphasis in psychosocial aspects of sport in 2008. Prior to his time at Utah, White was head athletic trainer at Bay Shore (N.Y.) High School and an athletic trainer at Bright Bay Physical Therapy (Brightwaters, N.Y.) in winter/spring 2006. White also has professional sports experience, having worked with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs. He served as a training camp assistant for the Chiefs in 2003 and 2004, and as a seasonal assistant athletic trainer during the 2005 season for the Jets. White holds bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in athletic training and exercise and sport science with a concentration in strength and conditioning. During his time in La Crosse, White was head ATS for the football and women’s track and field teams, while also serving stints as assistant ATS for the football, wrestling, women’s gymnastics, men’s track and field and men’s swimming and diving teams. White worked as assistant ATS at Central High School and Logan High School, both in La Crosse, and was a student intern at the Institute for Athletic Medicine in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn., all while completing undergraduate coursework at UW-L. White also has extensive strength and conditioning, teaching and scientific research experience. He’s been a personal trainer at Bally Total Fitness, Bright Bay Physical Therapy and the UW-L Strength and Conditioning Education Program. He also served as floor supervisor and worked in facility operations at UW-L. White taught and assisted with various athletic courses at Utah, while also leading, assisting and participating in several scientific research efforts at UW-L. White is certified as an athletic trainer and is licensed in New York and Utah. He’s a member of National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers’ Association and Utah Athletic Trainers’ Association. He’s a certified strength and conditioning specialist and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also holds certifications from the American Heart Association in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, as well as AED Essentials.
