The Florida College Classic
In 2000 Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush decided to bring the excitement of Division I men's college hockey to Southwest Florida. Thus began the annual Florida College Classic at Germain Arena. Every December hockey fans in Southwest Florida have the opportunity to watch some of the top NCAA men's hockey teams, such as the University of Maine, Cornell University, University of New Hampshire and Boston College!
From the many teams that have played in the Florida College Classic, fans have seen several players eventually wear the green and blue of the Florida Everblades! Each year proves to be both competitive and fun for everyone involved!
The 2011 Florida College Classic will take place December 29 & 30 and will see the Cornell Big Red, University of Maine Black Bears, Clarkson University Golden Knights and the University of Massachusetts Minutemen battle it out for the tournament title! Two games will be played each day with the first game beginning at 4:05 p.m. and the second at 7:35 p.m. The opening day of the tournament will see Maine play Clarkson at 4:05 p.m. and Cornell battle it out with U-Mass at 7:35 p.m.
