Everblades Agree to Terms with Defenseman Matt Finn

August 22, 2018

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Matt Finn for the 2018-19 season.

Finn, 24, returns for his second season with the Everblades where he registered three assists in eight games played last season. Finn scored two goals in a preseason contest on October 7 against the Orlando Solar Bears before suffering an injury that sidelined him for the first half of the season.  Finn also logged an assist in seven appearances last season with Florida’s American Hockey League affiliate the Charlotte Checkers.

Prior to his time with the Everblades, the 6-0, 198-pound defenseman recorded 32 points (11g, 21a) and 23 penalty minutes in 53 games with the Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL) during the 2016-17 season.

The Toronto native has totaled 18 points in 70 career AHL games split between the Toronto Marlies (2014-15), Bridgeport Sound Tigers (2015-2017) and Charlotte Checkers (2017-18).

Finn becomes the second defenseman to agree to terms with the Everblades for the 2018-19 season.  The team has also inked defenseman Derek Sheppard. To view the current roster CLICK HERE
