Booth and Smallman Reassigned to Everblades

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that goaltender Callum Booth and forward Spencer Smallman have been reassigned to the team by the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).  As a result of these roster moves, the Everblades have traded goaltender Tyler Parks to the Tulsa Oilers (ECHL) in exchange for future considerations.  In addition, the team has released defenseman Sean Robertson.

Booth, 20, returns to the Everblades where he has posted a 14-5-2 record, with one shutout, a 2.53 goals-against-average and a 0.908 save percentage this season. Booth went 0-1-0 with a 2.66 a GAA and a .900 save percentage during his recent AHL call with Charlotte.   The 6-3, 187-pound rookie netminder was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fourth-round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The Montreal, QC native played four seasons split between the Quebec Remparts and Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2013-2017.

Smallman, 21, joins the Everblades after totaling 223 points (86g, 137a) in 293 career games played with the Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL) from 2012-2017. The 6-1, 197-pound forward captained Saint John in each of the past two seasons with the team (2015-2017).  The Summerside, PEI native is a fifth-round draft selection of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Smallman and Booth won a QMJHL championship last season with Saint John and competed in the 2017 Memorial Cup. Both players will be available for Wednesday’s game at Orlando. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m..
