About Tonight’s Game: Florida opened its 20th Anniversary season on Friday night with a 4-3 win over Atlanta.  The Everblades have now won 11 consecutive home openers. The last time the Everblades lost a home opener was back on October 20, 2006, in a 5-2 loss to the Texas Wildcatters. The win last also marked the 11th straight year that the ‘Blades opened the regular season with a win.  Tonight, the Everblades have an opportunity to earn regular season win number 800 in club history.

The Gladiators brought forth a solid effort out of the gates in Friday night’s game, but ran into trouble halfway through the second that eventually did them in.  Atlanta will look to grab the weekend split tonight, before returning home next weekend to face the Everblades for a pair of games at Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth.

About the Everblades:  Rookies Nelson Armstrong and Joe Cox recorded their first career goals in Friday night’s win. In addition, Steven Lorentz logged an assist in his professional debut….Also last night, forward John McCarron recorded the first goal of the season, netting a shorthanded tally at 9:10 of the first period…  Goaltender Callum Booth is expected to make his professional debut tonight. Booth is a 2015 fourth-round draft selection of the Carolina Hurricanes.

About the Gladiators:  In the first period of Friday’s game, Atlanta Captain Derek Nesbitt snapped a wicked shot high into the net past Florida netminder Martin Ouellette, but the goal was waived off due to an offside whistle.  However, it was a reminder of the quick strike ability that Nesbitt brings to the table and the ‘Blades will need to be aware of his presence on the ice…Darby Llewellyn netted his first professional goal last night.
