ESTERO — Zack Kamrass scored at 2:58 into overtime while Anthony Peters made 41 saves to help guide the Florida Everblades (33-9-2-3) to a 3-2 win over the Orlando Solar Bears (24-18-6-1) Wednesday night at Germain Arena.

Special teams played a big role in the first period as both teams took four penalties, but the period ended scoreless after neither team was able to capitalize on any of their time on the man advantage.

Florida would get into more penalty trouble in the second period after Curt picked up a five-minute major penalty that put Orlando on a lengthy power play opportunity.  Florida was able to kill off all five minutes of Gogol’s penalty without giving up a single goal, keeping the game scoreless with about eight minutes left in the second.

The Blades would break the scoreless tie with 4:38 left in the period while on the power play. John McCarron got down low on the left circle before throwing the puck in front, banking it off of Evan Bloodoff’s skate and through Ryan Massa’s five-hole for the game’s first tally.

The Solar Bears wasted little time to tie it back up, as Ben Danford found himself with a lane through the middle of the Florida zone and snapped a shot by Anthony Peters.

Just 31 seconds later, Florida countered when Mike Ferrantino came down the left side wing and sniped a shot past Massa’s blocker, giving the Blades a 2-1 lead headed into the intermission.

Early in the third, the Solar Bears tied the game on the power play.  Milos Bubela made his way to the slot before slipping a shot high past Peters on the blocker side.

Later in the period, Peters would make an unbelievable diving save on Orlando forward Chris Crane, keeping it a 2-2 game. Both goalies stood tall for their respective teams through the remainder of the third. With regulation ending in a 2-2 tie the game would go to overtime.

Zack Kamrass put the nail in the coffin with 2:02 remaining in overtime as he streaked right through the slot redirecting a Matt Berry pass through the five-hole of Massa to seal the 3-2 overtime win.

Anthony Peters earned his 23rd win of the season stopping 41 of 43 shots, while Ryan Massa takes the loss in a solid outing allowing three goals on 36 shots faced.

With the win the Blades extended their unbeaten streak to 8 games (6-0-1-1) and their lead in the WAWA Cup standings improves to 14 points to 5 points (7-2-0-0). The Everblades also extended their lead atop the South Division to 14 points.  Following the conclusion of play on Wednesday, the Everblades remain the top of the ECHL standings with 71 points.
