September 17, 2015
ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Kevin Lynch for the 2015-16 season.
Lynch, 24, returns to Southwest Florida after posting seven points (2g, 5a) in 11 games played with the Everblades, and four points (3g, 1a) in 53 appearances with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League last season.
The 6-1, 198-pound center recorded 35 points in 67 ECHL games split between the Toledo Walleye (28 points in 53 games) and the Evansville IceMen (7 points in 14 games) during the 2013-14 season.
“Kevin is a strong two-way center, who provides strength for us down the middle,” said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. “He is good on faceoffs and he will also provide some leadership for us this season.”
Lynch totaled 72 points during his four-year collegiate career at the University of Michigan from 2009-2013, which includes a career best 27-point campaign with the Wolverines during the 2012-13 season. In addition, Lynch registered 48 points (24g, 24a) with the U.S. National Under-18 Team in 2008-09.
The Grosse Pointe, Michigan native is a second round draft selection (56th overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Lynch becomes the 12th player to agree to terms with the Everblades for the 2015-16 season.
